The Functions of the Liver

The liver is our body’s most important organ after the heart, performing many important functions. It also filters, regulates, and stores blood. Stress, poor diet, and over-medication are common problems in our "civilized" lifestyle. These may lead to stress and functional damage to the liver. As a result, "sluggish" liver has become a common ailment. It may affect memory, sleep, thyroid, body weight, and other body functions.

Weighing in at just over one kilogram, the liver is a complex chemical factory that works 24 hours a day. It processes virtually everything you eat, drink, breathe in or rub on your skin and that's just some of its over 500 different functions vital to life.

Every day, your liver helps your body by providing it with energy, fighting off infections and toxins, helping clot the blood, regulating hormones and much, much more. To give you an idea of the liver's critical roles, here are some of its functions:

Cleanses the blood:

- metabolizing alcohol and other drugs and chemicals,

- neutralizing and destroying poisonous substances.

Assists with Circulation:

The liver filters, stores and regulates the blood and is responsible for nourishing every cell in our body. Every part of the body depends on blood from the liver for nourishment and sustenance.

Regulates the supply of body fuel:

- producing, storing and supplying quick energy (glucose) to keep the mind alert and the body active,

- producing, storing and exporting fat.

Manufactures many essential body proteins involved in:

- transporting substances in the blood,

- clotting of blood,

- providing resistance to infection.

Regulates the balance of many hormones:

- sex hormones,

- thyroid hormones,

- cortisone and other adrenal hormones.

- Eliminates hormones through the bile or urine. Since estrogen and androgen are both growth hormones which stimulate cell division, elevation of their levels in the blood due to the liver’s failure to remove them efficiently can cause their accumulation in tissue. This in turn may lead to abnormal growths such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, breast cysts and breast cancer, prostate enlargement or prostate cancer. Excessive estrogen is also the most common cause of painful menstruations.

Regulates body cholesterol:

- produces cholesterol, excretes and converts it to other essential substances.

Aids metabolism:

Carbohydrate, protein, lipid (fat), mineral and vitamin metabolism; manufacturing and storage of many nutrients such as glucose and vitamins; production of heat through metabolism.

Regulates the supply of essential vitamins and minerals such as iron and copper.

Produces bile which eliminates toxic substances from the body and aids digestion.

Almost every degenerative brain disorder (Alzheimer’s included) involves a buildup of cellular waste.

So how can you dump that waste daily to avoid problems? There’s only one way: sleep.

A new study reveals clues about how our brains function during sleep. And the surprise is that the brain uses significantly more energy asleep than awake. Once you drift off to dreamland, your brain cells start to shrink. Then, cerebral spinal fluid is pumped through your gray matter. That pushes waste out of your brain, into your bloodstream, and sends it along to your liver where it can be thrown out.

When you wake up in the morning, cells bounce back to normal size and the brain gets started on another day of thousands of tasks per second.

We’ve all had that foggy thinking after a bad night’s sleep...now we know why. Our brains are still filled with yesterday’s junk!

The liver and the adrenal glands are intimately connected though cortisol, the main anti-stress hormone. Cortisol dysregulation can lead to liver and gallbladder dysfunction. Similarly, severe liver disease is associated with adrenal insufficiency. When the adrenals are overstressed, the liver can become congested over time. The weaker the adrenals become the higher the risk. Liver congestion hamper complete Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome recovery.

DERMA-PSOR CAPSULES

Taking into account the functions and importance of the liver in maintaining good health, we have developed DermaPsor Capsules to help the liver function efficiently thus eliminating many liver-related illnesses.

DermaPsor Capsules contain Milk Thistle that protects and regenerates the liver in most liver diseases such as Cirrhosis (hardening of the Liver), Jaundice and Hepatitis, (inflammation of the Liver), and Cholangitis (inflammation of bile ducts resulting in decreased bile flow). It is one of the best examples of preventative medicine that we have today as it not only protects each cell of the liver from incoming toxins, but simultaneously encourages the liver to cleanse itself of damaging substances, such as alcohol, drugs, medications, mercury and heavy metals, pesticides, anesthesia, and even the most poisonous of mushrooms, the Amanita or Death-cap mushroom.

DermaPsor Capsules are specifically designed to:

Maintain healthy cholesterol

Promote healthy weight loss

 Maintain balanced blood sugar levels

Relieve occasional gas, bloating, indigestion, diarrhea or constipation

Experience higher energy—no more morning or afternoon “crashes”

Enjoy better-feeling muscles

Support a sharp memory

Discover clearer, younger-looking skin

DermaPsor is essential for anyone who is under stress, uses alcohol, recreational drugs, prescription medications, or lives in today’s modern times of pesticides, environmental toxins, and pollution. Virtually every person in an industrial nation.

One of the special qualities of DermaPsor is that it cleanses and detoxifies an overburdened and stagnant liver while also being able to strengthen and tonify a weak liver; thus, delivering potent medicine to clogged, excess conditions as well as to weakened, deficient conditionals. One of the tasks of the liver is to cleanse the blood. If the liver energy is stagnant it will be unable to effectively cleanse the blood; this can result in skin problems ranging from acne to psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. DermaPsor is a powerful herb for supporting the liver to purify the blood and is one of the best herbs for the skin disorders mentioned above. It is also effective for treating congestion of the kidneys, spleen, and pelvic region.
